Every time I think of a carousel, I think of that one line from the Joni Mitchell song "Circle Game". I don't really know the song -just a few lines from it. I must have heard it somewhere a million years ago.
Anyway, Rebecca got to take her first ride on a carousel last weekend! She LOVED it!! We went to the Santa Ana Zoo. (Hey - everyone from So. Cal...did you even know there was a zoo in Santa Ana? Me neither). Anyway - it's a very small, low key zoo. Not really any big animals - lots of monkeys and a camel and an anteater - that sort of thing. We first walked in and passed a playground area. As soon as she saw that, she wasn't interested at all in the animals - she just wanted to play.
But then we got to ride a little mini train (also for those of you from So Cal - it's the train that used to be at Santa's Village back in the day) and the carousel. She rode it several times and had the most delighted look on her face. She was just in awe. It was pretty cool. Here are the pics from the zoo.

I loved this picture, and I love giraffes, but we didn't end up staying on this animal for the ride since it doesn't go up and down.

Feeding sheep. Rebecca didn't seem scared at first, but once it ate out of her hand once and then kept coming for more, she wasn't super excited about it and let me finish up.
In other news, we've been trying to do some fun summer activities like water, ice cream, etc. We've also just started up another round of her music class that we do through parks and rec. She loves this class and really participated a lot on Monday. It's fun to watch her get involved with stuff like that. Here are the pics:

We were at McDonald's for lunch last weekend and the worker came up and handed Rebecca a free cone. It was a little funky shaped, so I'm wondering if it wasn't fit for sale or something. Anyway, our girl dug right on in!

And last but not least, here are a couple of videos. I'm not sure if they'll work well - especially if you have an Apple device - but give it a shot.
