Addicted to Pinterest

Yes, admitting it is the first step...I am totally addicted to Pinterest.  For those of you who don't know what that is - it's a site/app where you can get ideas for all kinds of different projects - crafts, fashion, home decor, recipes, etc.  People post pictures and ideas from other websites and then you can create your own favorite lists to keep track of what you may want to do.  I have never used it before, mostly because I have not had time or space or patience to do many craft projects since Miss Rebecca came on the scene.  I miss it though.  So, I started with a couple of projects Rebecca and I could do together:

These are made with paint chips I got from Home Depot (for free obviously) .  The Frankenstein is mine and the pumpkin is Rebecca’s.  I just went to Home Depot and got some orange and green chips that looked good.  I also got some black ones to use for the faces and some silver ones to use on the little screws for the Frankenstein.  Then I just cut out some shapes for Rebecca and let her glue them on the pumpkin face.  I also had some of those plastic googly eyes and let her pick some other colored paint chips when we were there.  She’s been sticking eyes to the paint chips and making “aliens” for 2 days.  It’s keeping her very busy!!

This is made from Rebecca's hand print.  I just brushed her hand with orange paint and did it around in a circle – then one print of green for the stem – then when it dried, I just drew a face on it.  She loves it and proudly hung it on her bedroomdoor!
In other news, we took Rebecca to Downtown Disney on Sunday - for lunch and just to stroll around.  Honestly, I thought it would be all decked out for Halloween but it wasn't.  I still think she had fun though...and was a crazy lunatic in the giant World of Disney store, especially given her love of Mickey and Minnie (both affectionately known as Mimi):

Here she is at the Lego store.

Eating chips and salsa and Tortilla Joe's.  Yes, she eats salsa.  It was pretty mild, but she'll eat the medium stuff and not even make a face!  She takes after her daddy in this way - the medium stuff is pretty much too hot for me!  I'm a spice wimp!
Her speech continues to pick up very rapidly.  She is starting to put 2-3 words together which is pretty exciting.  A lot of things like "Daddy's shoes" or "More please".  But last weekend she said her first 3 word sentence "Mama hold me".  Yay!  A couple of other funny things she's been saying:

  • Halloween!  (sounds like High-weeeeeeen!)
  • "Ummm"... (if you ask her a question like "what would you like for snack" she'll say "ummm..." like she's thinking about it.  So cute!
  • "More what" - last weekend was another trying one with her terrible two behavior.  She was saying "more...more...more..." over and over again but I couldn't tell what she wanted more of.  So, I asked her "More what?" then she started saying "more what...more what...more what" over and over.  Oh well!
  • "one thing" - last night she wanted to use the ipad but I was using it.  I told her "let Mommy look at one thing real quick and then you can use it".  So a couple of minutes later she kept saying what sounded like "wha teen" over and over.  Then I realized she was repeating what I had said "one thing".  It was like she was telling me: "look sister, you said one thing and it's been 3 minutes so speed it up so I can play my games".
As I mentioned, things are difficult right now.  I am at the end of my rope most days and trying to keep my patience.  But, I'll admit, I pretty much lose it after an hour or two.  I need to do better.  I know she's little and just trying to figure things out.  But someone please reassure me that these times pass.  Please!!

One more picture for you.  Luckily, we get a short reprieve from her mood swings on the weekends when she naps.  I caught her in her favorite position the other day and it just made me smile.
