"Don't Talk"!

Every time I tell my mom about something funny Rebecca said, she always tell me "you better be writing that down".  So, here's my attempt at writing down a few funny things she's said recently.
  • As I mentioned in my last post, she likes to negotiate more time doing something before she has to do something else like brush her teeth or go to bed.  Last night, she used one of her famous delay tactics..."Mommy, I want to hold you" right when I was making dinner.  So, finally I had to put her down and she said "one more minute" so I said, "how about 10 seconds" and then I started counting down "10...9...8..." and right about there she looked straight at me, and very seriously said "Don't talk!!" and she actually reached out and put her hand on my lips, shook her head and said "Don't talk the numbers".  I suppose that was her way of telling me she doesn't like countdowns.
  • A few days ago, Rebecca was going potty and just wanted to sit there for a while.  She had the ipad with her and was watching one of her shows.  She probably ended up sitting there for about 10 minutes.  She finally told me she was ready and I could tell she'd been there a little while because her cute little hiney had the potty indentation on it.  When she got up she was kind of limping a little (like her legs had fallen asleep) and she said "My legs are grumpy".  That just about cracked me up until she said, "I need a bandaid for my grumpies".  So cute!
Now, on to some pictures of the past week or so.

Went to a BBQ place with my mom and dad...Rebecca went to town oh her pulled pork sandwich!
One of her favorite places to go on Saturday mornings is Trader Joe's.  She knows this is the place to go because she gets a sample and some stickers!  We are working on teaching her about the states and a few weeks ago I was singing "California Here We Come".  Then a couple weeks later, we're on our way to TJ's and she starts singing "Trader Joe's here we come, right back where we started from".  Hilarious!  This is her with TJ's stickers on her face on the ride home.
We went to the park the other day and these 2 little girls came over and wanted to play.  They were 4 and 5 but did really well with Rebecca.  Rebecca had a big grin on her face the whole time.  I think she felt like a big girl when she got to play with them!

She's not loving crafts right now because she doesn't like to get her hands dirty with paint, glue, glitter, etc.  I remembered I had this little tabletop easel from my "I want to learn how to watercolor" phase.  She got very excited about that and she painted for a while!

OK - so I'm a neat freak.  We all know that, right?  Though I'll say that having a child has made me give up some of my tendencies.  I think Rebecca has a little big of organization freak in her blood.  She brought all of these shoes out and lined them up just like this.  Notice the symmetry.  Beautiful!

Daddy showing Rebecca about his video game.

It was Mike's birthday, so me and Rebecca decorated while he was sleeping.   We put some streamers over the door so he'd get a little surprise as soon as he woke up!
Happy birthday!
On Mike's b-day, I wanted to take Rebecca outside so he could have some peace and quiet.  I saw a "recipe" on Pinterest for this squirtable sidewalk chalk.  I made it and let Rebecca squirt to her heart's content.  The problem was that 4 bottles of it were pretty much gone in a few minutes - and it took WAY longer than that to make it (kinda like Thanksgiving dinner).  But, she had a blast anyway, and then jumped in the puddles after we washed it down.
