Boogers

There's a series of books that Rebecca (and us) really like.  They're just funny little flips on classic kid things.  One is about a little pea who is forced to eat candy for dinner and would rather have spinach.  One is about a little pig who is forced to be messy but would rather be clean.  The last one is about a little owl who is forced to stay up late but would rather go to bed early.  Each one says the opposite of what you'd expect a human kid to say.  For example...the little owl says "when I grow up, I'm gonna let my kids go to bed whenever they want".  So, since Rebecca has an amazing memory and likes to apply phrases that she hears in books, here's a conversation that happened the other day.

Me:  Rebecca!  Stop eating your boogers!!!

Rebecca:  When I'm a grown up I'm gonna let my kids eat their boogers as much as they want.

Charming.  Very charming.

Now, to contrast that lovely story, here are her super cute school pics:

Here's what else we've been up to lately:
We've been trying a new behavior chart and ice cream is one of the rewards!

Rebecca decided she wanted to take gymnastics class instead of dance this time.  She LOVES it!
I am so glad Rebecca loves to read!  She made this little fort the other day and brought a bunch of books with her and read.

I'm pretty sure her favorite thing at gymnastics is these rings!
The next few pics is how they teach them the feeling of doing a back handspring.  Obviously she's nowhere near doing one on her own, but this gives them the idea.  She loved doing this in class and cried when it was done.

She has been loving all the Tinkerbelle movies lately.  I've also seen a ton of stuff on Pinterest about creating your own fairy gardens.  You can put little houses and make furniture out of tiny household things, etc.  I knew she would love to do that so we will get started soon.  One evening she actually chose to play by herself (which she does not like to do usually).  She said she wanted to make a fairy house.  We turned around and she had brought out thousands (it seemed) of tiny pieces and toys and stuff to make this town for the fairies (complete with plastic veggies in case they get hungry)!

And here's a craft we made for Easter.  Mine is the normal looking one and Rebecca's is....well...maybe a little Picasso-esque?
