Our girl turned 7 months old yesterday! Yay! She has really started developing so much more quickly lately - lots of new tricks - and her little personality is starting to come through! Here is her 7 month picture:
Her latest accomplishments are rolling around like a mad woman. I think she is really starting to get the concept of her own mobility and how getting from point A to point B can get her closer to another toy or some other interesting thing like the edge of the couch (which she finds fascinating for some reason)! She has also been laughing and smiling a ton, eating some new foods, and working on picking up cereal puffs with her fingers. The other day she also figured out the sippy cup:
As we've talked about before, she's not much of a sleeper, and we are going to start official sleep training probably next weekend. We are going to be a tired bunch, but I think it will benefit us all in the long run. Right now, when she gets really fussy, especially in the late afternoon, my singing seems to help. A round of "Rainbow Connection", "Over the Rainbow", "Castle on a Cloud" and "Edelweiss" seem to do the trick and she's usually asleep by the time I get through them all.
Another "big girl" thing she did for the first time today - rode in the grocery cart outside of her carrier. She's still a little small, and kept sliding around in the seat, but it went o.k. Unfortunately, when we were first getting her settled in the seat, the store worker came up right behind us and crashed a whole bunch of carts into their parking spots. I think that scared her and she started crying. Then we got inside the store, one of the workers was shouting across the entire produce department to another worker - again, scaring her - more tears! But, she calmed down and did o.k. the rest of the trip. Here's a picture of her in the cart:
Now I need to catch up on the last couple of weeks. Most of you know we have had a crazy, crazy couple of weeks in the family. Gratefully, things are o.k. now and we are all blessed and relieved that Grandpa is o.k.! A few days before everything went awry, we had my mom and dad and our cousins Bonnie and Howie over for a b-day dinner for my dad. We got a bow in Rebecca's hair for the first time and she looked so darn cute.
And last, but not least, here are a couple of pictures of her playing with her dolly this morning:
