6 Months!

Our girl has reached her half-year milestone!  It's so hard to believe!!  She's doing well.  We took her to her checkup on Thursday.  I won't go into too much detail about the appointment except to say that it is cruel and unusual punishment to make a 6 month old baby (and her parents) wait for 1 hour and 15 minutes to be seen by the doctor.  Other than that, she's growing well - she weighs in at 15 lbs. even - still in the 25th percentile for size, but proportionate, so she's good.  She's just petite (like her mommy - he he)!!  She's ready to move on to the next stage of foods and start increasing the amounts and decreasing the formula.  We gave her a few bites of her first meat last night.  It didn't go over too well.  I think the texture bothered her and she gagged on even the tiniest bite.  Earlier in the day, my mom told me that when me and my brother were babies, we didn't like the meat either, so she'd "hide" it in a bite of fruits or veggies.  So, I tried that and it helped. 

I wish I could get a video of her latest trick that cracks me up every time.  She's gotten in to this habit of moving her feet around in circles - like she's drawing circles in the air with her toes.  That's pretty cute all by itself, but a few times, I've caught her trying to put her toes in her mouth while she's got them circling.  So, her head bobs around trying to pin down her toes and then once they get inside her mouth, they're still circling!  It's so funny!

Also, last week, my mom called and told me she was having Rebecca withdrawals and needed to come visit.  So, my mom and dad trekked down for a few hours last week - here are some cute pics of their visit!

 



 

The weather was SO warm out yesterday, that I took her to the park again.  She really loves it there.  This time I parked our blanket near the playground area where she could see all the kids playing and lots of dogs.  I can't remember who gave her this little outfit, but it was the perfect weather for it.  She looked so cute laying on her tummy with the ruffle on the butt!
