The Fernie Family : Vacation, Part 3

So, we're on to part 3 of our Vacation Series: Cruise to Bermuda!

As I mentioned, my parents, us and my brother, sister-in-law and niece and nephew boarded the Norwegian Breakaway for a 7 day cruise to Bermuda. We were a little nervous about how Rebecca would do - especially with sleeping...but that part went o.k. Thanks in part to my genius use of 3M hooks and a sheet!

See, Rebecca has never slept in the same room as us (except in the hospital) and since cruise ship rooms are very small, I was worried. Before we left I wondered if I'd be able to create a partition of some sort, so I bought a sheet and some of those 3M hooks. I was able to rig a partition and it worked!! I forgot to take a picture of it, but imagine a hospital room where the bed has a curtain around it that attaches to the ceiling. It was kinda like that and she ended up sleeping just fine.

We had a good time, but there were definitely a lot of challenges with having a toddler on a ship. She did get to experience a lot of really fun things though - meeting Dora, dancing like a maniac on several stages, playing with her cousin and eating lots of new foods.

Rebecca - the chess prodigy! There was a giant chess board on one of the decks and she went there several times - moving the pieces and lining them up.

This was at the Nickelodeon breakfast...she started dancing before the thing even started.

Then she let herself right up on the stage and started running around like a performer.

Here she is meeting Dora. She doesn't look very happy in the picture, but as soon as Dora came out, she was so excited...she ran right up to her and gave her a hug.

She was not so excited about SpongeBob...he is a little strange looking though!
