Parks & Picnics

We've been on a big picnic kick lately.  And considering that we've had such nice weather, we've been able to do it.  Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks:

Rebecca has been up to lots and lots of typical 2 year old shenanigans lately!  One funny thing she's been doing is laying out a pillow and a blanket on the living room floor, asking for her Buddy (a stuffed Woodstock) and a book and then just laying there reading.  It's so cute.  Here are the pics:

Here are a few miscellaneous pics:

A quick update on her in general - her speech continues to broaden all the time.  She asks really insightful questions and says the cutest things.  This morning, we were talking about Minnie Mouse and she said "I lub Minnie.  I lub Minnie every day!"  How freaking cute is that?

Also, a couple of days ago she said "I lub you Mommy.  And I lub Minnie."  Then she thought about that for a second and said "I lub you both".  I think she was not sure if she could love more than one "person".  I explained that you can love lots of people at the same time.  So we started making a list...she said something like "I lub Mommy and Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa and Minnie and MMs".  Yes, she loves M&Ms...and she wanted to make sure that made it on the list of her loves!!

She got in some trouble at school last week.  We actually got a note home that she wasn't behaving and was being disrespectful to the teachers.  Oh boy.  Behavior problems already??  So we had to have some talks about that and luckily things have improved.

And last but not least - a funny story.  Well, at least it's funny now.  Some of you have already heard it but I wanted to include it here for posterity.  Last Sunday we were at a really cool park by our house which includes a little pond and ducks and turtles and a bunch of cool play equipment.  We were on the playground going from one spot to another and something hit me in the head pretty hard.  I was SO annoyed.  I just KNEW it was some annoying kid throwing a ball at me.  I'm pretty sure I used a curse word or two wondering what the heck hit me.  And then I look down and it was a FISH!!!  Seriously??  A little 3" long fish had hit me in the head.  There was even a wet spot in my hair to prove it!  A bird must have snatched it out of the water and dropped it from on high.

Most of you know I have a serious case of Ornithophobia (fear of birds) and this just solidifies one more way birds can torture people.  I know that this particular bird had it out for ME specifically, and did all the necessary wind and speed calculations so that the fish would hit me on the head when it dropped.  I know it.  Here's a pic of the weapon in question:
