"Your Butt is Just the Right Size" and other updates

I know, I know...it's been a WHILE.  I'm sorry.  Life just creeps up on you sometimes.

First, let me explain the title of this post.  This conversation happened a few weeks ago:

We were playing in Rebecca's room one Saturday morning and she asked me to read to her:

Rebecca:  Mommy, will you read me this book.  We can sit in my bed.

Me:  Sure, that sounds good.

Rebecca:  Your butt is just the right size to sit in my bed.

I burst out laughing.  Never in the history of the world did I ever think I would hear that MY butt is just the right size!

I have pictures since Thanksgiving to share.  I'm just going to put a whole bunch of them for your enjoyment.  I hope to get back to a regular schedule with the blog now.

Music class

She agreed to wear this dress to see Santa but ONLY because I told her she'd get better presents that way.

Her school had a little program.  This is her sitting with her class.

She wrote her name - didn't even need prompting on how to spell it!

On our way up to Bakersfield for Christmas.  We always stop at this really nice McDonald's about half way.  She loves the playground!

She decorated this house up at Grandma and Grandpa's

Doing the traditional meatball making with grandma.  All the grandkids have done this multiple times.  I should get a bunch of the pictures all together.

There's a fun park by my mom and dad's.  She was very afraid of this rope bridge at first.  Wouldn't go on it unless Mike or me was with her.  Then slowly, she would let us be behind her or then we could wait on one side.  Within an hour or so she was walking very confidently all by herself.  She was so proud!  And so were we!

Presents!  She enjoyed Christmas a lot this year.  She loved opening presents and I think opened most of everyone else's too.  It's so hard to know what her favorite thing was.

She wrote Mommy.  Yay!  I did have to tell her how to spell it.

We went bowling for the first time on New Year's weekend.  The put the bumpers up and then they have this little dinosaur thing so the kids can just roll it down.  She did really great and loved it!

And here are a couple of videos for fun:
