9 Months!!

Rebecca turned 9 months old today.  She has officially been outside of the womb as long as she was in it.  So strange.  She is becoming such an independent, sassy little girl.  She definitely lets us know when we have done something to irritate her (like take something away from her).  She is also sweet and beautiful as always.

Recent milestones:
  • At her doc appointment this morning, she weighed in at 18 lbs. 4 ounces, so still on the small side, but growing appropriately and the doctor was pleased with her growth and development.
  • She is a climber!  She pulls herself up on to anything she can and now wants to climb up and over the top.
  • She is starting to take some steps along the side of the couch while holding on - just a couple here and there, but it's a start.
  • She's getting a tooth!  About a week ago, I noticed that her gums felt a little bumpier than usual and a few days ago the tooth officially broke through.  You can't see much of it yet, but it's there.  She has been a little extra fussy but not too bad yet.
  • She ate her first Cherrios the other day...childhood staple!
Here's her official picture from today:

Here are some pictures of Rebecca standing on the edge of the couch:

We are really having to watch her so much more closely now.  The other day she got hold of my purse, and even started looking inside!

On Saturday, I went to meet my friends Rachel, Katie and Amanda for breakfast.  I haven't seen Amanda in a while, so it was nice to introduce her to Rebecca.

Most of you know I grew up in a very patriotic family, my dad being the ring leader.  Before Rebecca was born, Grandpa bought several American-themed outfits for her.  I put one of them on her on Memorial Day.  It's a little big, but you'll get the idea.  I also got her this flag pinwheel - so cute!

Here's a pic of her eating Cheerios for the first time!

And last but not least, here she is after her doc appointment today:
