Shoplifting, Standing and Swinging

Sorry it's been so long.  Hectic few weeks, but I will start with a funny story.

We were at Ralph's last weekend doing our grocery shopping.  Rebecca loves to help.  She wants to hold my shopping list or something from the cart.  So, I handed her a bag of shredded cheese and she was thrilled to be able to hold it.  I forgot all about it when we got to the checkout.  Luckily, I had a coupon for it, so the checker asked me about it because the computer wouldn't accept the coupon.  Then it dawned on me that Rebecca had it in her hand!  I almost contributed to the delinquency of a minor by allowing my baby to shoplift cheese!  Not a good thing.  Besides, if she's going to shoplift something it clearly ought to be chocolate!

My parents were here a couple of weeks ago and we had so much fun with Rebecca.  We took her to the duck park and let her swing in the baby swing and walked around.  Here is a really cute picture of Rebecca with my mom and dad at the park:

Rebecca has been pulling herself into a standing position on just about anything she can...even if it moves - like our ottoman with wheels!  She doesn't seem content to just sit still anymore.  Here is some evidence:

Mike and I took her to the park last weekend to enjoy the nice weather.  We sat on the blanket for a little while and she just looked around and checked everything out.  We were close to the flag pole and she could hear it flapping in the wind.  I told her about how important the flag is.  Grandpa will be so proud!

After that we put her in one of the baby swings.  She's still a little too small, but we put a blanket to help pad it for her.  She had so much fun!  She made friends with the mom of a little boy in the next swing and smiled and smiled for that lady but not so much for mommy!

This is her looking up at the flag - I couldn't resist that crazy face she was making!
