Having Fun!

It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with our girl!  She is on the go.  Always.  Doesn't she know her parents are old?  Doesn't she know how hard it is for mommy to get down on the ground and play?  Doesn't she know that giving her horse back rides on the hard wood floors is excruciating on our knees?

She doesn't know...and I suppose she shouldn't.  We do our best to play in the way she likes, but sometimes, that doesn't work out.

Here are some pics of things we've been up to:

At the park on the way home from school one day.
She mastered climbing up a ladder all by herself!

For weeks, I've been doing some paintings and quotes on canvases to decorate Rebecca's new big girl room (you'll see a pic at the end of this post).  Here she is helping to paint artwork for her room.

If you can see the look on her face, that's what we get 99% of the time these days when we try to take pics...and she is shouting "NO PICTURES"!!!!!  Like we're the paparazzi or something!
I saw this idea on Pinterest.  Doing a science experiment with a pan of baking soda and some tinted vinegar then watching it fizz.  She had a blast.  At one point, she said sort of in awe "Mommy...were doing science" nice!

We took her on her first trip to Chuck E Cheese.  It was pretty fun.  She had a good time except some of the play equipment was a little too big for her.  So that made her mad.  When we ran out of tokens, she kept saying she wanted to play more.  I said "we can't, we don't have any more tokens" and she said "mommy...just get more tokens".  It reminds me of how if my mom or dad would say we couldn't buy something I would tell them "just write a check"!

This was her favorite thing at Chuck E Cheese...a little car that she could "drive" and honk the horn and everything.  Below is a video of her in the ride.

This is the final wall of artwork I did and some quotes. I know she can't read them yet or understand them - maybe they're more for me...but I hope she can understand and appreciate them one day.  I used quotes from my favorite books and movies (and I threw in one Lord of the Rings quote for Mike).  There's a quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder, one from L.M. Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables), one from Louisa May Alcott (Little Women), one from Sound of Music and the Lord of the Rings one.  Then there are just some other fun things.

Rebecca is just starting to get in to Frozen.  Here's a short but very dramatic clip of her singing Let it Go.  And the one below it is Rebecca at the shoe store before even buying her new tap shoes.  She just had to try them out.  I can't wait for dance class to start next week.  You're welcome.

Talented Laura strikes again. I love the quote wall -- what a great idea! And really, her tap dancing -- she's too adorable. If there is ever a recital you better invite me!
