The Stockings Were Hung...

Our whole family has matching Christmas stockings which were lovingly knit by my Aunt Ruth (who always encouraged my brother and me to call her Darling, Precious Auntie - something we've continued to this day).  I'm pretty sure my brother and I had these stockings from my first or second Christmas.  During childhood, we LOVED these stockings because, since they were knit, they were ultra stretchy.  I can remember coming downstairs on many Christmas mornings where Santa had filled that stocking beyond the brim! 

As family members have been added over the years, Auntie has continued to make the stockings.  Here's a picture of our little family's stockings:
